An Answered Prayer

This may not seem like a big deal to most people, but it was to me. Jim has been gone for over 2 weeks now and although I'm handling everything just fine, the small inconveniences and challenges are starting to become harder and harder. This morning I was supposed to run 5 miles....this is my last week of hard training before my half marathon. Anyway, I haven't been able to find my ipod and have been looking for it since Saturday. The longer I searched for it the more upset I was becoming. As silly as it sounded, I decided that I was upset enough and this was important enough to me to take it to the Lord. I knelt down in my living room and offered a simple prayer. Within 2 minutes I found my ipod. I am truly humbled that the Lord could see how upset I was and wanted to help. I know there are so many 'more important' prayers offered every second, but Heavenly Father cares about everyone's problems and stresses. I guess I really HAVE to run now!!

'I don't Need a Nap'

Larkin, Larkin, Larkin. She's killing me! From the day we brought her home from the hospital she has never wanted to nap. I quickly learned that if she really needs a nap, the swing works great.

Sleeping Buddies

Jacob and Rainey share a bed for no other reason, but that they (Rainey) sleep better this way. I checked on them a couple nights ago and found that they were all tangled together.

Road Trip

The kids, my parents, and I packed up my Sante Fe and headed to Atlanta a couple weeks ago for my twin nieces' baptisms. It was nice to be able to go over and support them. It took us about 13 hours each way. The kids did very well..there were no major melt-downs to report.

Short Notice

My parents, the kids, and I are leaving for Atlanta tomorrow. My brother's twins are being baptized. It's going to be a quick trip. We'll be home on Sunday night. While out getting last minute essentials and non-essentials this morning, Jim called me from work to let me know he is flying to Malaysia TOMORROW for 2 weeks. Mmm, my favorite! So when we get home on Sunday night, he won't be here to greet us. Very sad. It looks like he'll be traveling a few more times this year. I can't complain though, I have friends who's husbands are gone for months at a time. AND, my parents are here. Still, the evenings are always hard.....dinner, bath, jammies, teeth, stories, water, 'spread my blanket out', 'I'm scared of the wall', etc. This should be great fun.
